What do you dream?

That’s right another great question from the amazing Jessica over at Kick in the Blog. This weeks question
“What’s your dream?
Is it for you?
For your kids?
Can it come true?
Do you even really want it to?”
I LOVE this question. Love love. You know why? Because not many people think about their dreams. Sure they have them but they may feel they are completely out of range and just give up. This questions asks you to stop and take the time to think about it.

So here we go. For the longest time my dream was to have a home to raise my family in. Ever since I became a mom that’s what it had been and you know what I am living that dream. Things were not always easy and believe me our rough times were rough but here we are, almost eight years after becoming a family and we finally have a home. A real home, not just a rental. A house that is ours, to raise our family, to make lasting memories in. That dream is here right now.
So now since I/we are living that dream I want to talk about my other dream. Photography. I love photography but I want to learn all about it. I want to learn how to properly use a camera, all the settings, different lenses, how to use it to it’s full potential. And when I accomplish that I want to take pictures of nature. Flowers, rain, lightening, tornado’s, you name it I want to shoot it. I also want to travel around the country and capture as much as I can of all the different areas I visit. Including the people, the land, the food, the culture and well, everything about my experience while visiting.
Is this dream for your kids? Well yes and no. Yes because I would love for my children to be traveling with me and getting all the same experiences that I would be getting. Can you imagine, living in a RV traveling the world and documenting everything that you come across. That would be truly amazing. I also say no because Photography is a passion/love of mine BUT it is a love that I also want to share with my children.
Can it come true? Well I know I can educated myself, it takes time and money. Both of which aren’t always readily available but I know it just takes commitment and that I can do. The traveling I am not sure if it can come true. But I do live in an area with all different types of weather so I WILL make photographing nature!
Do I want it to come true? Absofreakinlutely!

Where Do You Go When It’s Time For Escape?

Jessica from Kick in the blog asked her readers the other day Where Do You Go When It’s Time For Escape?
My initial thoughts were I run far far away. Getting some inspiration from Forest Gump there. If you can’t tell I am a bunch of randomness and sarcasm when I am initially thinking out answers in my head. So now onto the real answer.
A book is my first and preferred escape. When I need some me time I can always find that while reading a book. I am the type that gets completely involved while reading. Sometimes it literally feels like I am in the story and there is no one else around me that can disturb me. So it’s best for me to read while the kids are asleep. That being said it is still my favorite way to escape.
Another way I escape is through music. I play it loud, and when I mean loud I mean where you feel it in your chest loud. One of the best parts about listening to music is that my kids will escape with me into my/our little world of lets dance like a fool and not care because were awesome like that. And it is awesome. It usually brings out lots of laughter and smiles and you can’t beat that.
The bathroom. Yes I will go to the bathroom sometimes if I feel things might get a little out of hand (emotionally) and sit by myself for five minutes and just breath. And you know what it helps. Some people might laugh or scoff but go try it and come back here and tell me how you feel after doing it. Five minutes may not seem like a long time but when you are sitting by yourself concentrating on your breathing it will feel like so much longer and the relief felt after doing it is tremendous.
Those are my top three ways to escape. What are yours?

What do you love to do?

If you haven’t heard Jessica from It’s My Life has started a new site called Kick in the Blog. The idea behind the new site it to bring inspiration to bloggers to help give them a “Kick in the Blog” to help get you passed any writers block you may be having.
Today’s question is “What do you love to do”?
My initial response would be I love to to lay on the couch relax on the couch all day, watch movies with the kids, maybe eat a few bon bons, pick up a pizza for the kids and I to enjoy and finish the day off with a glass of wine. Yes that is what I would love to do. Truth time. I’ve never actually even eaten a bon bon and I am the only one who cooks in the house. While I have spent all day doing nothing with the kids but watching movies and cuddling and I won’t deny it’s awesomeness it’s not the type of response Kick in the Blog is looking for. This is a more a thought provoking type of question. One to think long and hard before answering.
Now for my serious answer. I love to do photography. I am not a professional and that is fine by me. I am still learning and there is so much to learn and I know that I have just reached the tip of the ice berg of photography knowledge. Thinking about learning all things photography gets me excited and slightly overwhelmed at the same time. But that doesn’t scare me, it only makes me more excited for what’s to come.
I love to watch my children grow. I especially love to watch them sleep. They are so peaceful and just all around cute while asleep. They are so young right now and I know I have my whole life ahead of me to watch them grow but right now I am living in the moment and seeing them play, read, color, get excited over paint colors, playing in the pool, dressing themselves, arguing over toys, etc. I love it all and it is something I look forward to every day for as long as I am alive.
I love to blog. I have no problem admitting that I do get writers block, quite often sometimes and getting passed it isn’t always that easy. But coming up with new things to write about and sharing pictures, recipes and all around daily life of this crazy household is such a joy for me. I love to do it.
