Finding Dory just announced!

Finding who? Nemo? Dory! After a long….long time Disney and Pixar have announced a sequel to Finding Nemo…Finding Dory. I am like a giddy little kid right now because seriously dude Dory is awesome. She was one of my favorite characters in Finding Nemo and hello Ellen DeGeneres is made of pure awesome. Here’s what she said about the announcement;

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” said DeGeneres. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”

I love how Ellen announced the news on her show.

According to director Andrew Stanton, “Finding Dory” will take place approximately one year after the first film (Finding Nemo) and it feature all of our favorite characters such as Marlin, Nemo and the the Tank Gang as well as other characters as well as the introduction of some new characters, including a few who may turn out to be an important part of Dory’s life. There is also talks that the film will be set along the California coastline.

So let’s start the countdown shall we.  We only have to wait 967 days or 2 years, 7 months and 23 days or 83,548,800 seconds or 1,392,480 minutes orrrrr 23,208 hours. Eh that’s totally doable.

Be sure to like Finding Dory on Facebook and follow Disney/Pixar on Twitter to keep up to date on the latest happenings.

Disney movie Planes new posters and trailer

We are huge CARS fans here. My boys and I love to watch both CARS and CARS 2….a lot. I doubt it bothers the boys but I’ve been waiting for a new spin on the movie because let’s face it, you can only watch a movie so many times before you’ve learned the entire dialogue. Not that that isn’t fun but something fresh is always fun. And now Disney has done it again, announcing PLANES.

In this action packed movie filled with comedy and adventure features a plane named Dusty who dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. The only problem? Dusty is afraid of heights and isn’t quite built for racing. So what’s a plane to do but turn to a seasoned naval aviator for help. In this adorable film Dusty’s courage is put to the test as he tries to go to new heights that he never dreamed were possible.

This summer on August 9th the wait for PLANES will be over. Will you be there? I know I will with my two boys in toe. If you want to keep up to date and follow PLANES you can do so on Facebook and Twitter and of course at Disney.com.

Disney’s Brave Review

Ever since I first heard word that Disney was going to be creating a new kind of Princess movie I knew I wanted to see it. First off, I am a huge Disney fan. Second, what’s not to love about introducing a new type of Princess. One who is strong, independent, maybe slightly stubborn, and one who wants to be in control of her destiny. Personally I think it’s awesome. Now I am not knocking the other Disney Princess characters, I think they are all great but I really loved the idea of bringing in some change.

My family and I had the privilege of attending a screening of the movie Brave a few days ago. I don’t know who was more excited, my daughter or me. It may have been me LOL. I was a little worried that my youngest might not be too interested since the main character is a girl (he’s really into super heros right now) but I think he enjoyed the movie. In fact this morning he said he wanted to see the movie again. My daughter absolutely loved it. It was too cute for words to look over and see my baby girl laughing at the funny scenes and at the others she had a perma smile plastered on her face. Now I did hear from a few others that there were some scary scenes in it but I don’t think they are anything to be concerned about if you’re thinking of dismissing the movie just for those few scenes. Neither my five year old or my four year old made a fuss about it.

I will try not to give away too much info in this quick breakdown of the characters. They were all great in their own way. The star Merida was headstrong, fearless and she has this thirst for life that is unquenchable. Her Mother Queen Elinor was torn between doing what was expected and not wanting to hurt her daughter. Her Father King Fergus was hilarious. He seemed like the type to find humor in anything and one who has troubles sticking to the straight faced serious sides of life (I can relate to that hah). The three brothers were too freaking funny. Little mischievous boys which were adorable to watch. And who thought they could be even cuter as bears.

All in all I absolutely loved the movie. I laughed, I cried (shhh I am an emotional person so I tend to cry a lot), I ohhh’d and awwww’d and I would go see it again right now if I could. I’ve already told my daughter we will be buying the movie as soon as it comes out on DVD. It quickly climbed my list of favorite Disney movies. The message behind the movie is one that will touch you, especially if you’re a mother. It will even touch you for being a daughter because lets face it, at one point in our lives there was a time when we didn’t agree with our Moms. Would I recommend this movie, you bet I would! And not just for little girls. I think this is a great movie for kids of all ages, boy or girl.

My kids aren’t the biggest fans of the movies but they are still quite young so that’s understandable. I am a huge fan which I’ve stated before and my kids do say they like Pirates and will sit down to watch it with me but they aren’t really into it. So I will either be going by myself next week or with a friend. Either way I am excited to see some old characters like Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and some new like Angelica (Penelope Cruz).
